Update

I'm two days shy of officially being in my third trimester, which is both exciting and a little nerve wracking.  Here are some highlights from the 1st and 2nd trimesters to bring you up to date:

Although we were both thrilled about the baby, I can't honestly say I really enjoyed much about the first trimester.  I had a pretty rough go of it between week 6 and, oh, about week 19 -- so I suppose I didn't LOVE the beginning of the second trimester either.  I won't get into all the gory details, but let's just say "morning" sickness for me was more of a "24/7" sickness and the headaches, exhaustion, and anxiety were just the cherry on top.  The 1st trimester wasn't all bad though.  It was truly amazing to see our little "gummy bear" baby for the first time at the 8 week ultrasound and hearing her little heartbeat was (and is) about the best sound ever!  We also loved getting to tell family and close friends the good news.

The beginning of the 2nd trimester didn't bring much relief from all the yucky first trimester symptoms, but we were anxiously awaiting our 20 week ultrasound to see how things were progressing and of course to find out whether we had a little boy or girl. Right about 19 weeks, I finally started getting some energy back and I started feeling human again, thankfully.

The 20 week ultrasound was incredible...and of course we found out we are having a baby girl!!! Here's a picture of her looking oh so sweet:

The past few months have been great!  I'm feeling good and we're making a lot of progress on our "Baby To Do's".  Zach and I are busy getting the house and nursery ready; trying to agree on a name; and we started our Childbirth Prep classes this week.  Things seems to be really flying by now!  Baby girl is super active these days.  I love to feel her wiggling around in there.  She doesn't seem to cooperate very often when others try to feel though...I can already tell she's gonna be an independent little one just like her mom.

Here's the most recent picture I have of the two of us (promise we'll take more soon):

23 Weeks
Currently, I'm at 26 1/2 weeks and it's so hard to believe that in less than 14 weeks, we'll get to meet our little girl!  This has and will be an amazing adventure for us and we can't wait to share it with all of you.
